Too Much To Do, Can’t Fit It All In?

Exploring Routines & How to Cover the Curriculum in KS1

Description

The expectations of the KS1 National Curriculum can seem overwhelming: no matter how many times we re-design out timetables, it can seem impossible to cover every aspect in sufficient depth. As a result, time for children to explore and extend their own learning can be reduced or possibly removed entirely.

This practical session will provide you with simple ways to embed key learning in Continuous Provision, classroom routines and expectations, ensuring that children revisit and reinforce skills in ways that will deepen understanding.

Benefits:

  • A recognition of how incidental learning can effectively revisit and reinforce understanding

  • A wealth of practical ideas for developing routines and approaches that revisit and extend National Curriculum expectations

  • An overview of approaches to managing the timetable
