Join us for our Free November Open Evening
We start November with a bang with another free open evening at the National Centre, which will also be livestreamed so you can join wherever you are In the country! This time we focus on Building Creative Approaches in the EYFS and KS1 and we welcome two guest speakers to deliver inspirational workshops - artist Emma-Jo Bairstow and Samantha Smith, EYFS Lead at Flanshaw Junior & Infant School.
4.15pm | Building Creative Confidence
Join artist Emma-Jo Bairstow as she explores the power of mark making in the most creative of ways! In this practical session, you will investigate a variety of mark making tools and consider how to approach drawing in early years through experimentation and play.
5.00pm | Creative Storytelling
In this highly practical session, Samantha Smith and Andy Burt will explore the fantastic storytelling possibilities within a well-planned and richly resourced small world and blocks area. They explore why creative opportunities for storytelling are so crucial for children’s developing literacy skills and take an in depth look at progression from Nursery through to Key Stage 1.
