Christmas is coming, and to celebrate this most wonderful time of the year, we are opening the doors to our National Centre for a FREE Festive Twilight - the perfect opportunity for you and your colleagues to relax and unwind towards the end of a busy term.
Indulge in a festive treat or two as you explore our seasonal displays showcasing beautiful resources that will bring a sparkle to your classroom, and join our mini workshops packed with practical ideas to spark your imagination to make the most of winter and all of its special celebrations.
4.15pm | Session 1 - Enhancements: Keeping it Meaningful with Nova Robinson
As Winter with all the festivals approach, this session will consider the effectiveness of the enhancements we provide for our children: how can we ensure that they are rich, inspiring and meaningful - and that they provide a purposeful context to embed other learning?
4.45pm | Session 2 - What a Performance! with Matthew Sayer
When it comes to putting on a show, what can we learn from School of Rock?!
With the season of Festivals, Nativities and Christmas shows almost upon us, this session will consider how this can be made meaningful for all children and how it supports them to develop the performance skills ELG from the revised EYFS Framework.
5.15pm | Session 3 - Stepping Away from the Christmas Production Line with Andy Burt
As the festive season approaches, do you find yourself completing seemingly endless, repetitive craft activities? Are you stuck at a Christmas conveyor belt, supporting children to do heavily directed activities? If so, this session is just for you! We will explore rich, creative and child centred experiences for cards and calendars to help put the sparkle back into your Christmas practice.
Once again, we will be live streaming the event so you can join us wherever you are in the country!
