Developing Children’s Transcriptional Skills Across the EYFS
Support children to become increasingly confident to communicate their ideas across the curriculum
Description
Children need a range of transcription skills to capture, represent and communicate their ideas and understanding across the curriculum.
This course explores what transcription looks like across the EYFS. In writing, for example, we will consider how children develop the skills to move from spoken language and ideas into written form, through phonics, spelling, letter formation and handwriting. In mathematics, we will explore how children move between objects, fingers, marks and pictures towards numerals and symbols. We will also consider how children develop the skills to represent their thinking through drawing, maps, plans, diagrams, models and other forms of representation.
Discover practical approaches to developing children’s transcription skills across the curriculum, helping them become increasingly confident and fluent in moving between ideas, experiences and meaningful representations.
