Building Foundations for Learning
Strengthening Leadership of the Early Years in International Schools
Description
How good is the quality of learning in your Early Years department? As a school leader how do you know? How confident do you feel in understanding early childhood education and strengthening it in your school?
This new course has been specifically designed to support leaders working in international schools.
Research consistently demonstrates that a clear understanding of effective early years education is fundamental in securing high outcomes for children. However, members of school leadership teams may have limited experience of teaching younger children or leading the early years.
To ensure that practice and provision is of the highest quality, school leaders need to be able to draw on a secure understanding of the core principles of pedagogy, knowledge of child development - as well as meeting any additional external expectations.
During this seminar we explore the core principles of the early childhood education and how these are translated into high quality practice and provision. We will also be reflecting on how young children learn and identify the key quality indicators, drawing on the latest international research evidence.
Senior Leaders will be supported to evaluate their early years, ensuring that it is connected meaningfully to the whole school curriculum, and identify next steps for strategic development.
