Let's Move it on Outdoors in KS1

Adding Greater Challenges to Outdoor Learning

Description

To truly create an effective and challenging outdoor learning environment in KS1, we must develop a variety of ways for children to learn outdoors. Exploiting the outdoor environment and its use needs careful planning and preparation so that it is inspiring, engaging and challenging – and can successfully meet the needs of the curriculum.

This session will explore how to offer rich experiences that contribute to all areas of learning and development; including providing opportunities to challenge and extend children’s literacy, problem solving and thinking skills.

Benefits:

  • A clear understanding of the value of outdoor learning

  • A wealth of practical ideas to embrace outdoor learning

  • A recognition of how critical skills can be effectively embedded and extended
