Developing Effective Outdoor Learning EYFS & KS1

Whole School Programme: A Whole Team Approach to Teaching Outdoors in EYFS & KS1

Description

The programme is designed to support your school to review and develop the use of your outdoor provision to strengthen teaching and learning across the curriculum in the EYFS and into KS1.

It challenges teams to look beyond ideas for setting-up and resourcing the outdoors, to think more deeply about the outdoor curriculum, developing greater knowledge to help improve teaching and outcomes.

Packed with training webinars, practical videos and support materials, the programme offers a flexible, ready-made solution to delivering in-house training.

The programme includes:

  • An introductory webinar, which sets the scene and gives a clear overview of how to use the programme with your team to maximise impact

  • Four training webinars for you and your team to join together to share, or watch individually

    • Enriching Communication, Language and Literacy

    • Enriching Collaboration, Mathematical Thinking and Problem Solving

    • Enriching Investigation and Discovery

    • Continuing Outdoor Learning in KS1

  • Nine videos that explore key areas of outdoor provision and ways of using these to support teaching and learning across the curriculum in the EYFS and KS1. The videos explore how outdoor resources can be used to embed skills and knowledge in the EYFS, and secure progression in KS1
