Exploring Early Literacy

Supporting EYFS Teams to Consider how to Teach Early Literacy in the EYFS

Description

Focusing on the crucial first steps of early Literacy, this session has been designed to provide insightful CPD for EYFS teams, refreshing knowledge and offering inspirational ideas to achieve high quality teaching and effective learning.

Building upon what we know about the critical role of language development, we will reflect on the interconnected relationship between early phonics, early reading and early writing; considering how carefully planned teaching, guided and child-initiated activities opportunities will enable children to secure these connections, allowing them to become confident, skilful, passionate readers, writers and communicators.
