Strengthening the Learning Journey
Exploring Progression in the Early Years
Description
Developing an Early Years curriculum which fulfils statutory requirements, meets the contextual needs of your school community, and provides opportunities for children to explore their unique interests, is a complex process. With many schools now having nursery children, and some with children from aged 2yrs, creating a meaningful and connected learning journey through the early years has become increasingly challenging.
This course has a specific focus on progression, shining a spotlight on how this may look in terms of resources and teaching across the early years. During the session we will explore areas of provision, indoors and outdoors, and reflect on the journey of development from 2-5yrs in terms of core skills, language and knowledge – and consider how these align with our understanding of child development and curriculum.
