Description

Relationships lie at the heart of learning, and research consistently shows that effective interactions are the critical keystone of high-quality practice in the Early Years. This essential course has been designed to enable all those working with young children to become the best possible partners in play and learning.

 

Delivered as either a full day face-to-face event, or as three webinars, the course covers: 

The Vital Foundations: Adult Knowledge and Understanding

Examine crucial threads of practitioner knowledge and understanding which underpin interactions with children. Exploring key aspects of child development and how young children learn, drawing on latest/key research and considering the curriculum.

Key Priorities: Communication and Language and Co/Self-Regulation

Shine spotlights on how we can support the development of children’s Communication and Language, as well as Self-Regulation, through skilful and sensitive interactions.  With recommendations for leadership and practical tips for teams to use in the classroom.

Partners in Learning: Developing and Extending Thinking

Explore strategies to further raise the quality of practice, including guidance around Sustained Shared Thinking and the use of questions in interactions.

 

There will be opportunities to refresh on general aspects of good practice for effective interaction and with suggested tasks, supporting activities and practical tools, this course offers an ideal opportunity to strengthen practice for you and your team!
