The Child in Mind
Exploring the Relationship between Early Years Neuroscience and Practice
Description
The brain is a truly amazing thing, but the brains of young children are the most precious and wonderful of all. Research consistently shows that from birth to age 5, a child’s brain develops more rapidly than at any other time in life. As science discovers more and more about how the young brain develops, it is essential that as educators we also ensure that our knowledge of the research continues to grow. However, connecting this with our schools and settings can sometimes be challenging.
This unique online conference has been specifically designed to address that gap, and to help you translate the research in everyday practice and reflect on the critical role of play.
Across this exciting event we will be joined by inspirational speakers who will skilfully navigate us through a journey of exploration into the fascinating field of early years neuroscience; along the way the many possibilities for us to ensure that our provision and practice truly has every child in mind.
During the day you will hear from Professor Sam Wass, one of the UK's leading experts on Early Years brain development; Ben Kingston-Hughes, the founder of Inspired Child and a play specialist, and Helen Mohatta who works with Early Excellence as an Associate SEND Specialist.
